Information we collect
We collect the account name and email address you provide, authentication records, and the workspace content you choose to create, including Personas, characters, scenes, conversations, summaries, and model settings. We also keep limited operational records such as model routing metadata, request identifiers, error logs, and service security events.
Provider credentials and AI requests
When you add a third-party model API key, CharFab encrypts it before storing it and does not return the key to your browser. To provide the service, CharFab sends the relevant prompt or audio data to the model provider you select. Those providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies. Do not connect a provider you do not trust.
How we use information
We use information to authenticate you, operate and secure your workspace, deliver requested AI and speech features, diagnose failures, prevent misuse, and improve service reliability. We do not sell personal information or use private conversation content for advertising.
Storage and retention
Workspace data is retained while your account remains active or as needed to provide the beta. You may delete individual content in the app. Account-level deletion and export procedures will be made available before commercial launch; until then, contact us for assistance. Some security and backup records may remain for a limited period where reasonably necessary.
Sharing
We share information only with infrastructure and model providers needed to deliver features you request, when required by law, or to protect CharFab and its users. We do not disclose your provider keys to other users.
Security
We use access controls, tenant isolation, encrypted provider credentials, and HTTPS in production. No online system can be guaranteed completely secure, so you should use a unique password and protect access to your provider accounts.
Children
CharFab is not directed to children. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.
Your choices
You can edit or delete much of your workspace content in the app and disconnect model providers by removing their configurations. For privacy questions or requests, email privacy@charfab.com.
Changes
We may update this policy as the beta evolves. Material changes will be dated on this page before they take effect.
